It’s a truism, at least to me, that all short story collections are by their nature “hit or miss,” regardless of whether the collection is author-centric or is a theme anthology. I thought about a third of these stories were fantastic – obviously “Greasy Lake,” but also a couple others that seemed to deal with the same kinds of characters and themes.
